theology for real life

About

I am a regular guy living quite an extraordinary life. I am husband to a wonderful wife, Amy and father to four daughters (two on each coast) and soon to be a son. I have had a handful of careers so far (some of them reasonably successful) and throughout them I have kept pursuing a quest to better understand and be able to communicate this thing called a Christian life. Three theology degrees in (and the last coming along) and I know less than I once thought I knew, but at least I have learned how to ask some of the questions better and how to recognize the falsehoods in some of our stock answers. You can see my Duke page here for some additional info.

I just want to thank you for your comment in response to Anne Jackson’s “sexy survey results” post.

No need to go into detail about why I’m infuriated with the first response to my comment on that particular post. I want to extend my gratitude to you for understanding what I was trying to say, even if I wasn’t able to effectively communicate it.

Oh. And for creating a safe place to engage in dialogue for people who don’t agree with the rules modern Christians have created in order to do less and ensure comfortability.

    Thank you.

    Hi Mike,

Happy New Year to you! I trust you are having an enjoyable day. My name is Todd Stepp and I work for BooksChristian.com, here in Franklin, TN. We are a Christian owned & operated company that sells over 200,000 Christian products.

I have visited mikeraburn.wordpress.com/ and have noticed that you post book reviews on your blog. I wanted to see if you would be interested in partnering with us, enabling visitors to your blog to purchase books that you review, as well as other books that you may suggest to them (books of the day etc.). In return we would pay you 9% on every sale made. There is very little work that would need to be done on your end, as we provide all the tools to create links and codes that you can post on your blog.

I would love to discuss this further with you at your earliest convenience. I look forward to hearing from you!

    Regards,

    Todd Stepp
